AHMED MUHANNA
I work as an art therapist, and my specialty is supporting children who have gone through difficult experiences such as displacement, war, or loss of security.
Through simple tools like colours, clay, and drawing, I create a safe space for children to express their feelings without the need for words.
Art for a child is not just an activity; it is a language. A simple drawing might reveal a hidden fear or a previously unspoken wish.
In my sessions, I encourage the child to be the expresser, and I simply accompany them.
Sometimes, a child draws a destroyed house or a colorless sun. Here, we begin the dialogue: "What do you feel? What do you wish for?"
With repeated sessions, I see a gradual transformation: from isolation to openness, from anxiety to play, from silence to storytelling. The moment a child picks up a brush and begins to express themselves is a moment of healing.
This experience taught me that a child doesn't always need words, but rather someone who listens
All profits will go toward providing the children Ahmed works with, with art and drawing supplies. You can donate to his fundraising page here.
